The USAID 2017 Acting on the Call progress report stated that by focusing on building strong and resilient health systems, USAID can save the lives of 5.6 million children and 260,000 women by 2020. These approaches rely on improving Accelerator Behaviors, identified for their potential to hasten the decline of child and maternal deaths.
Bringing to bear our 50+ years of experience designing, implementing, and evaluating behavior change programs, The Manoff Group leads the ACCELERATE project team. ACCELERATE works with USAID health teams and stakeholders in priority countries to align health programming using behavioral outcomes to maximize investments and accelerate impact. ACCELERATE increases Agency-and Mission-level support for integrating Accelerator Behaviors into health portfolios, enhances the design and management of health programs, improves tracking and measurement of Accelerator Behaviors; and provides technical assistance to Missions.
ACCELERATE has worked with USAID health teams, implementing partners and other partners and donors in four PMCD priority countries, developed a rapid learning network with USAID Washington SBC colleagues, improving Global Health guidance documents and Mission Health Improvement Plans, and released a website with engaging content, easy to navigate functionality, behavioral data, interactive tools, tutorials and more.
